The Sabadell Swimming Club, a European benchmark with its new pool sponsored by AstralPool

The Sabadell Swimming Club (Club Natació Sabadell) members have a good reason to celebrate. The Sabadell Swimming Club
Foundation and the company AstralPool, part of the Aquaria Group, have signed a sponsorship
agreement for the installation of the most modern pool of its category at the Can Llong centre for
use beginning in the summer of 2008. Versatile and designed with the latest technology, this 50m
Olympic pool has side walls and a bottom that can be moved. Its installation is set to begin this
very summer. The future installations are one more step towards converting this Can Llong centre
into a benchmark facility in Spain and Southern Europe.
The new swimming pool is similar to the one AstralPool is installing for the FINA World
Swimming Championships, taking place in Melbourne (Australia) from 17 March to 1 April. It
incorporates the same technology already featured in the pool used at the Championships held in
Barcelona in 2003.
As the pool’s walls and bottom are moveable, the Sabadell Swimming Club will be able to divide
a single pool into several areas of different sizes and depths. In this way, it will be able to
accommodate various uses and groups at the same time.
The Foundation’s commitment to the future
As a result of the sponsorship agreement signed by AstralPool, the Sabadell Swimming Club
Foundation will have more funds available to develop training programmes for member athletes and to
enhance the promotion of the sport within the community. This agreement fulfils two goals: on
behalf of AstralPool and the Aquaria Group, to demonstrate the commitment that this multinational
company, headquartered in Sabadell, has made to the community and its closest neighbours; and on
behalf of the Foundation, to establish itself as the Club’s ideal collaborator, with the first
agreement between the entity and a company.
